Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and the use of the Automated External Defibrillator (AED) has evolved and changed many times since our humble beginnings. We meet the ILCOR International Liaison Consensus on Resuscitation at both the basic and advanced cardiac life support levels of care. Our courses are very practical with students having the opportunity to practice the core skills including Bag-valve-mask resuscitation, CPR, and complete operation of the most current AED’s available. A case-based team approach is emphasized with a focus on both general CPR knowledge and performance, with a keen focus on the participant’s particular area of specialty.
This is evident in our work with dental professionals since 1986 at the University of Alberta. Since those first courses were offered, we’ve continued to create training and certificate courses for Dental Professionals. We provide this training and education with a focus on working the cases in the dental practice, and the simulated patient in the actual dental environment to allow team members to simulate emergencies in their unique clinical settings.
Private tutor CPR is also available at a small increased cost at our training facility in the Capilano area of south Edmonton. We maintain a completely stocked trauma room environment with a stretcher & dental chair for the simulated patient, all 02 and medications needed for both the basic and advanced provider.
Our faculty for basic and advanced CPR training includes registered paramedics, nurses, and we’re proud to have a sedation dentist on our team to help with this training!
