Oxygen Therapy

After ensuring your own safety upon arriving on scene, the first priority is a patient’s airway. If a victim cannot exchange air, all resuscitation efforts are useless.

Aggressive and prompt airway management on the part of the rescuer is of paramount importance. Oxygen (O2) is a medication and, if properly used, is an excellent tool in combating shock. Annual re-certification with CPR is required to maintain current standards.
